چکیده
In this paper, an approach is presented that allows for a linkage between cutting process induced damage and the mechanical properties of machined structures. For carbon fibre reinforced polymers, milling remote laser processes are analysed. Open hole tensile test specimens, either milled or cut with three different parameter configurations tested. With two-dimensional heat conduction simulation, temperature field resulting from determined thus thermally quantified. Those results compared to micro-sections. The following structural analysis based on anisotropic model taking thermal pre-damage into account. purpose two modelling approaches, variables material reduction, compared. influence experimental results.

In-vitro MRI detectability of interbody test spacers made of carbon fibre-reinforced polymers, titanium and titanium-coated carbon fibre-reinforced polymers.
The purpose of this study was to investigate how different materials affect the magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) detectability of interbody test spacers (ITS). We evaluated the post-implantation MRI scans with T1 TSE sequences for three different ITS made of titanium, carbon fibre-reinforced polymers (CFRP) and titanium-coated CFRP, respectively. The main target variables were total artefact vo...

متن کاملImage Characterization of Carbon Fibre Reinforced Composites
A new methodology to detect fibres orientation in composite materials, using image processing tools is introduced. Several examples with manufacturing defects are studied using RIMAPS technique and the Variogram method. The characterization is made from digitized images of the samples. Combined use of RIMAPS and Variogram analyses identified the orientation of fibres and determined the values o...
متن کاملAttachment and Proliferation of the Saos-2 Cell Line on Carbon Fibre-reinforced Polymers
Introduction: Carbon fibre-reinforced polymers (CFRP) are being investigated for the next generation of arthroplastic devices. Their mechanical similarities with bone make them ideal for load bearing implants. Previous attempts at using CFRP have failed due to the lack of osseointegration with bone. Treatments to increase surface roughness and topography have shown to affect the attachment and ...
